Planetout Partners Receives $8.2 Million in Initial Series D Funding Round
Industry Heavyweights Continue to See Value Of Leading Company Addressing Affluent Gay and Lesbian Market
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 10, 2001 - PlanetOut Partners, Inc. announced today that it has closed an initial Series D round of funding of more than $8.2 million dollars. The round includes premier new investors as well follow-on investments from leading backers of Online Partners, Inc. and PlanetOut Corporation, the two online services companies that merged in March 2001 to form PlanetOut Partners, Inc.
Participants in this initial round include AOL Time Warner Ventures, JPMorgan Partners, Flatiron Partners, David Bohnett's Baroda Ventures, Jesse.Hansen CoVe, IDG Ventures, Petunia Resources in concert with Macluan Digital, UK-based Episode 1 and private investor Ric Weiland.
